Back Pain

Lower back pain is the most common reason patients walk through this door. Dr. Townsend treats lumbar strain, disc herniation, SI joint dysfunction, and acute back spasm. Most patients are adjusted on the first visit.

Sciatica

Sharp, burning pain radiating from the lower back into the leg or foot. Caused by lumbar disc pressure, piriformis tightness, or sacroiliac joint dysfunction. Chiropractic adjustments relieve the nerve compression at its source.

Neck Pain

Cervical pain from desk posture, sleep position, screen time, or overexertion. Dr. Townsend evaluates all seven cervical vertebrae and adjusts to restore normal motion and relieve nerve pressure radiating into the arms or skull.

Whiplash

Soft tissue injury from rapid head acceleration — most commonly rear-end collisions. Chiropractic adjustments restore cervical joint motion and address the mechanical dysfunction that keeps whiplash from resolving on its own. Note: we do not bill third parties for MVA claims.

Headaches & Migraines

Cervicogenic headaches originate in the upper cervical spine and radiate over the skull. Upper cervical adjustments reduce the mechanical trigger directly. Many patients who rely on daily ibuprofen find significant relief within a few visits.

Sports Injuries

Running injuries, cycling strain, weightlifting back and shoulder problems, trail running ankle and knee strains. Oakland athletes are seen the same day — no referral, no appointment, no treatment package required.

Carpal Tunnel & RSI

Wrist pain, hand numbness, and repetitive strain from keyboard work, cycling, or manual labor. Dr. Townsend evaluates the full nerve chain from the cervical spine to the wrist — treating only the wrist often misses the source.

Pregnancy

Lower back pain, sciatica, SI joint dysfunction, and pelvic girdle pain are common in the second and third trimester. Adjustments are gentle, modified for each stage of pregnancy, and performed without pressure on the abdomen.

TMJ

Jaw pain, clicking, and temple headaches linked to upper cervical misalignment. The jaw and cervical spine are mechanically connected — upper cervical adjustments reduce the muscular tension feeding into the TMJ joint.
